Reflecting on the past year
I sit here writing this on the eve of another AGM. It's been an eventful year since my last post. We had our first attendance for many years at the Village Festival in June 2016. We sold many hats raising £50 for charity and gave our van from 'The Lady in the Van' one final outing. It was a fun day but unfortunately were unable to have a stand there this June. Maybe we'll return in 2018 to celebrate our 50th anniversary!
Here are a couple of photos from years gone by when we used to run the coconut stall.
In July we performed a reading of Forgotten Voices for Hatfield Regis Local History Society to coincide with their exhibition about WW1. We had a lovely evening and made a collection in aid of British Legion funds. On the back of this we performed our own 'Commemoration of the Great War' for two nights in November. Unfortunately audience numbers were poor however it was enjoyed by all who saw it.
In March this year we performed 'The Last Romance' at the Heath and at Hertford where we won the Audience Appreciation Award!
We'll soon be holding auditions for our autumn production of Proof, directed by Bernard Moule and making plans for 2018.
